Training & Certification

The team that can't run it is the system that won't last.

GuideHerd training is built for the people who will actually use the system day-to-day — not for the partners who approved it. It covers AI principles, the GuideHerd platform, and ongoing skill maintenance as the field evolves.

The problem, named.

Three ways a system becomes shelfware.

The capable tool, the helpless team.

The system ships. Nobody owns it. The consultant leaves. Twelve months later the workflow is manual again.

The training that doesn't transfer.

One session, one slide deck, one certificate nobody can find. Staff nods along and returns to what they know.

The knowledge cliff.

AI models, tools, and libraries change quarterly. Teams trained once fall behind fast. The system becomes a liability instead of an asset.

What the training covers.

Three pillars. One curriculum.

AI Foundations

"Understanding what you're working with."

Before anyone can use the system well, they need a working mental model of what AI agents actually do — and don't do. This track removes the mysticism and replaces it with practical intuition.

  • How large language models work (no math required)
  • Prompt design and iteration basics
  • What AI is unreliable at — and why that matters for your workflow
  • Data privacy, compliance exposure, and responsible use
  • AI governance basics for professional services environments

Platform Proficiency

"Running the system we built for you."

Every GuideHerd deployment is customized to a client's practice. This track covers the specific agents, dashboards, and automations running in the client's environment — and trains staff to operate, troubleshoot, and hand off tasks without calling us.

  • Matter intake and conflict-check agents (for legal clients)
  • Document review and drafting assistants
  • Time capture and billing automation
  • Dashboard navigation and report interpretation
  • Escalation protocols and edge-case handling

Ongoing Skills Maintenance

"Staying current without becoming a full-time learner."

The AI landscape shifts quarterly. New models drop. Tools change. Libraries deprecate. This track is the recurring cadence that keeps your team's skills current — without requiring them to live in the AI press.

  • Monthly model and tool update briefings (curated, not firehose)
  • Quarterly capability refreshes tied to GuideHerd platform updates
  • Emerging use cases relevant to your practice area
  • Internal champion updates and train-the-trainer sessions
Training tracks by role.

Not everyone needs the same curriculum.

We build the tracks around what each person actually does.

Partner / Executive

Owners · Managing partners · C-suite

Format 2-session executive briefing + quarterly updates
Duration ~4 hrs total

What they leave with

  • A clear view of what the system does and what it doesn't
  • Enough to ask the right questions without becoming a technician
  • Confidence to sponsor the program internally
Investment $2,500

Staff / End User

Paralegals · Associates · Ops staff · Coordinators

Format 4-session hands-on cohort
Duration ~8 hrs over 2–3 weeks

What they leave with

  • Certified proficiency in the GuideHerd tools relevant to their role
  • A written SOP library they helped build
  • A point of contact for ongoing questions
Investment $6,000–$8,000

Internal Champion

1–2 nominated staff members

Format 6-session extended cohort + train-the-trainer supplement
Duration ~14 hrs + ongoing

What they leave with

  • Deep platform knowledge across all modules
  • Ability to onboard new hires independently
  • Direct line to GuideHerd for escalations and new capability rollouts
Investment $12,000–$15,000
Certification program.

Certification, not just completion.

Completing a track earns a GuideHerd certification. This is not a participation trophy — it documents that the person demonstrated competency in a specific set of tasks against a real workflow.

What certification includes

  • Written assessment — open-book, scenario-based, graded against documented criteria
  • Live task demonstration — the candidate runs a real workflow inside the platform, observed by a GuideHerd trainer
  • SOP sign-off — the candidate's documented procedures reviewed and approved before certification is issued
  • Digital credential — a verifiable record issued to the individual and the firm

Why it matters

  • Creates internal accountability — certified staff have a documented standard to maintain, not just a session they attended
  • Signals compliance-readiness to partners — relevant for firms under regulatory scrutiny or with client-facing AI workflows
  • Gives staff a documented professional development record — something portable and real, not just another vendor completion badge
On maintenance: Certifications are maintained through the ongoing skills track. A certification that goes unmaintained for 12 months lapses.
Delivery.

How it's delivered.

Live, remote sessions

Small cohorts, screen-shared, recorded for reference. Not pre-recorded video libraries.

Role-scoped curriculum

No one sits through modules irrelevant to their job. Tracks are filtered by role before the first session.

Built around your system

Training content is customized to the specific agents and workflows GuideHerd deployed for you. Not generic AI literacy.

Paced for a working firm

Sessions are 90–120 minutes. Scheduled around court calendars, client deadlines, and billing cycles. We don't ask your team to disappear for a week.

Pricing.

Transparent pricing. No seat licenses.

Training is scoped and priced per engagement — not bundled into the retainer, not billed by the seat. You pay for the track your team actually needs. A small firm with four staff and one partner is not paying the same as a 30-person operation.

FAQ.

Common questions.

No. Platform Proficiency training runs in parallel with the final implementation phase so your team is ready at go-live. Foundations can start earlier — often during the planning phase.
Internal Champions are trained to onboard new staff independently. If the firm grows significantly, GuideHerd can run a supplemental cohort — priced as a reduced-scope Staff track engagement.
The Foundations content is relatively stable. Platform Proficiency updates whenever we ship a platform change. Skills Maintenance is refreshed quarterly on a fixed cadence.
All delivery is remote, so yes — though sessions are scheduled in US/Canada time zones by default. We can accommodate international clients with advance notice.
Yes. Every session is recorded and available to the client through their onboarding portal for 12 months.

Start with the assessment. Training is scoped from there.

Every engagement starts with a readiness assessment — a 24–36 page written report on where AI can move a number in your business. Once the implementation is underway, we scope the training around the roles that actually touch the system. No guesswork, no generic curriculum.

  • Training scoped to your specific roles and workflows
  • Priced per track — not per seat, not bundled
  • Certification included in every track
  • Skills Maintenance available quarterly after core tracks complete

Already a retainer client?

Training is a separate engagement — not bundled into the retainer. Reach out directly and we'll scope a track around the roles currently using the system. Most clients start with a Staff Cohort within 30 days of go-live.

Not a client yet?

The assessment comes first. Once we understand what you're building and who will use it, training scope follows naturally. The readiness assessment is free for qualified businesses.
